Sick leave (arrêt de travail): what to do and what is paid
The doctor writes an arrêt de travail; give it to your employer within 48 hours. The first 3 days are unpaid (délai de carence); CPAM daily allowances (indemnités journalières) start on day 4. Condition for the first 6 months: at least 150 hours of work in the 3 months before, or contributions on pay of at least 1,015 times the hourly SMIC over 6 months. Amount: 50 % of your daily pay (3 months of gross pay divided by 91.25), at most 42.97 € gross a day, paid every 14 days. After 1 year with the company, your employer adds pay from day 8: first up to 90 % of your salary (F3053).
