Injury at work (accident du travail)
An accident du travail is a sudden event during or because of work that causes physical or psychological harm (F178).
Tell your employer the same day, at the latest within 24 hours; the employer declares it to the CPAM within 48 hours. The employer gives you a feuille d'accident: with it, care linked to the injury is free. The doctor writes a certificat médical initial. If your employer does not declare it, you can declare it to the CPAM yourself within 2 years (F171).
Your employer pays the day of the accident; then allowances start with no délai de carence: 60 % of your daily pay for the first 28 days, 80 % from day 29 (F175).
