Insure the home you rent
A tenant (lease, including a bail mobilité) must have home insurance that covers at least the tenant's risks (risques locatifs): fire, explosion, water damage. You give the certificate (attestation) to the landlord or agency when you get the keys, and then once a year if they ask. Without it, the landlord can end the lease or take out insurance for you and charge you. Cover for your belongings and for damage to neighbours is optional (F31300).
