France Travail: registering as a job seeker
Registering is not compulsory and is free, but it gives you job-search support, training and benefits if you are entitled to them.
What to do
- As a foreigner you need a residence document that allows you to work. An APS or a récépissé is accepted when it carries the mention "autorise son titulaire à travailler".
- Online on francetravail.fr ("M'inscrire, me réinscrire") or at a France Travail agency in the morning, without an appointment.
- You are asked for your carte Vitale with your social security number; a CV and a RIB help too. Not every document is needed at once.
